Akasuna Sasori

Sasori was born in Sapporo, the only son of Seiji Akasuna, a well-known doctor, and his wife, Haiko. Since his childhood, Sasori read medical books, records and Biology encyclopedias like most children read picture books. His family was rich, and Sasori was spoiled, quite used to getting everything he wanted, and being able to bend people to his will. The only person immune to his so-called charm was his paternal grandmother, Chiyo, with whom he had a one-sided disdain.

When Sasori was only seven years old, his mother and father died in a fire, leaving him alone with his grandmother. Lonely, unhappy and angry, he grew distant from his remaining family, tending to close himself in his room, designing dolls and reading the familiar books left to him by his father. Through trial and error, his grandmother discovered what he was making: small, wooden dolls, designed after his deceased parents. Out of ignorance and love for her grandchild, she said nothing, and let him continue to live in his solitary lifestyle, though secretly hoping he would create some relationship with the living.

She got her wish when Sasori started junior high, when he met a few classmates; Awai Deidara, Uchiha Itachi, Hoshigaki Kisame, and a few others. Although Sasori viewed these people as expendable, they were human, and living, and though Sasori was stubborn, Chiyo had her wish... in some form or another.

History
